THE PERSON ASKING WHY.
I have spent two decades in roofing, and everything I know about it I learned running a company.
I started in 2005 with a local roofing company here in Orlando. In 2016 I bought Janney Construction Services from my uncle. I inherited a handful of team members and we grew it past a hundred. The work got noticed along the way: Orlando's best roofing company, Best Place to Work in 2021 and 2022, the highest rated roofer in Florida, and Orlando Business Journal naming me 40 Under 40 in 2019 and CEO of the Year in 2020. In 2022 I led the company through its acquisition and served as President of Janney Roofing, which later merged into Legacy Restoration. From 2022 to 2024 I sat on the Owens Corning advisory board.
We built the company on four words: honesty, quality, integrity, generosity. That last one is the one people ask about. I have served on the board of directors for World Hope since 2003, and in a single year our giving passed $250,000 for mission work. I do not believe generosity is what you do once the business succeeds. I believe it is part of why it does. Our motto was changing the world one roof at a time, and we meant it literally.
Above the Roofline is the conversation I wanted when I was building. The best operators in this trade have answers the rest of the industry never hears. I ask the way one owner asks another, because that is what I am.
